A Look Toward 2024

Last year I mentioned in a post that I would be participating in larger events. After attending Fan Expo Denver (77), Fan Expo Boston (85), The Big E in Springfield, MA (75), and Rhode Island Comic Con (21), my Overlords book sales broke record after record. Bigger isn't always better, but for book sales, you can't beat the larger venues. I included my total sales after each event and, as you can see, sales were very good. However, I also don't want you to think that I'm making tons of money. Don't get me wrong, I'm making back my book cost and then some, but if this were my day job I'd be bankrupt! For all those writers out there that aren't sure which direction their marketing should go, I'm doing all of this for exposure not for my livelihood. If that were the case, I'd have to attend many more events and scrutinize every dollar I spent. Fortunately, my engineering day job allows me to follow my passion. Please keep this in mind if you try to duplicate what I have done.

In 2024, I'll be heading to Fan Expo Dallas to introduce The Overlords to the Lone Star State. I know you don't mess with Texas, but I have to believe that 60,000 expected fans will result in record sales again. Go big or go home, right? I'll be sure to update my Facebook Author Page with updates on all my events. In the meantime, let's hope that 2024 is another great year for sales, a healthy year for all, and better times for everyone.
